- This memo presents an elaboration of the SNMP administrative model set
- forth in RFC 1157. This model provides a unified conceptual basis for
- administering SNMP protocol entities to support authentication and
- integrity, privacy, access control, and the cooperation of multiple
- protocol entities. This RFC is the product of the SNMP Security
- Working Group of the IETF.

- This document specifies an IAB standards track protocol for the
- Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
- improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the "IAB
- Official Protocol Standards" for the standardization state and status
